Global LEAD is excited to announce University of Texas at Austin freshman, Juli Jimenez, is one of several of our $500 LEAD scholarship winners for 2014! Juli is a Kappa Delta at UT-Austin and says that studying abroad has always been a dream of hers. Juli was born in Colombia, and says that traveling to visit her home country enables her to appreciate all of the opportunities she has here in the U.S.
Juli is most excited about the adventure aspect of Global LEAD, and when asked why she believed so strongly in the importance of adventure, she said, “People need to leave their comfort zones and explore the world in order to learn more about themselves and others.” Juli will be traveling to Cape Town with us, and looks forward to the new culture she will have the opportunity to experience abroad. “My family loves traveling and we truly value the experience of seeing other cultures and their lifestyles.”
